Just My Rant

I have just completed a project that I feel has ‘come of age’, a project that in these trying times might just help out people that need a ‘little help’. It all start with a friend, a friend that had medical problems that prevented him from doing some repairs around his house. His family was worried but he was even more worried about these little problems and the stress from worrying was making his medical condition worse. Friends of his thought it best to try and raise money to hire someone to fix these problems but I had another idea. Why not get a group of us together that knew how to fix these problems and take a few hours out of our lives to fix them. It really was simple stuff for some of us, the roof had some leaks and the gutters needed cleaning and re-attached to the house. So we pulled together as a community and brought tools, food and drink.

Sure enough within two hours all the problems were fixed and the stress lifted off this family in an afternoon. Soon we were sitting around talking and laughing like friends at any other Sunday picnic. Someone asked me about the idea and I said “In the old days when someone’s barn burned down the whole community was there the next day to help them rebuild for the simple fact they knew it could have well been them”. The idea seemed to take on a life of its own as I mentioned it at the forum we belonged to and I started building the site.
